Donate to the National Aviation Hall of Fame

Many companies offer matching gift programs that enhance a charitable contribution made by an employee. Not only does The National Aviation Hall of Fame benefit from the increased donation, but a donor may qualify for a higher category of recognition when the gift is matched. Ask your human resource department for a matching gift form and send it in with your contribution.

DAF Gifts

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an investment account with the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to your DAF, you’ll enjoy an immediate tax deduction—and easily support the ACLU Foundation and other charities that matter to you, on your schedule.

You can make one-time gifts or set up recurring monthly donations. You can give to one charity or multiple, all from a single DAF.

DAFs are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the United States because they are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to give.

Gifts of Stock

If you have owned stock for more than one year that has gone up in value, you can donate the stock to the National Aviation Hall of Fame, and receive a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock at the time of the transfer (its increased value), and never pay capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the stock. Consider your long-term publicly traded stock as a potential charitable donation, or consult with your advisor to determine the best asset to contribute.

The NAHF will determine the value of publicly traded securities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the requirements of Treasury Regulations.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Federal law allows people age 70½ or older to make direct transfers to charitable organizations from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), without the withdrawal being treated as taxable income. The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

Transfers must come from your IRA, made payable to the National Aviation Hall of Fame. 401(k), 403(b), and other retirement plans do not qualify. Ask your advisor about transferring funds from these other accounts to an IRA.

As a Society member, your name will be included on the Commemorative Plaque, located in our Heritage Hall and Education Center. Members of the Zoe Dell-Nutter Society also receive a unique commemorative gift, invitations to special events and programs including the annual enshrinement, and an opportunity to meet other individuals with a common interest in the future of the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

Your legacy can be tailored to your overall estate plans, and may include, but is not limited to:
