Julie Clark


  • Overcame adversity after being orphaned at age 15 to become a trailblazing airline captain, airshow performer, and mentor.
  • Broke gender barriers in the 1970s as one of the first women hired by a major airline, paving the way for future generations of female pilots.
  • Enjoyed a distinguished 30-year airline career, retiring as an Airbus A-320 Captain in 2003, while captivating audiences nationwide as an airshow performer in her iconic Beechcraft T-34 until 2019.
  • Inducted into multiple aviation halls of fame, including Women in Aviation International’s Pioneer Hall of Fame, the ICAS Hall of Fame, and the Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame.
  • Recipient of numerous honors, including the Bill Barber Award for Showmanship, Art Scholl Memorial Award, ICAS Sword of Excellence, and the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award recognizing over 50 years of safe flying.
  • A passionate advocate for giving back, Julie continues to mentor aspiring aviators and operates Clark’s Canine Care, a nonprofit dedicated to airlifting dogs from overcrowded shelters.
