The NAHF Joins #GivingTuesday

The National Aviation Hall of Fame Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

Pledges to the National Aviation Hall of Fame’s benefit the Come With Us Capital Campaign

Dayton, OH: The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring on November 29, #GivingTuesday inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.   The NAHF is embarking on a nationwide effort called the Come With Us Capital Campaign and sees #GivingTuesday as a great opportunity for those interested in helping the NAHF connect the inspiring lives of our Enshrinees with children who will benefit from these heroes.

“While we have several areas of need, the initial primary focus will be upgrades to our Learning Center (LC) and developing educational programing.  The NAHF LC, which is visited by almost 500,000 people a year, many of them school-aged children, is in need of enhancement,” said Executive Director, Amy Spowart.  “We also plan to grow our STEM education programs to include underserved youth interested in aerospace related fields and expand our Wings of Women program, which offers mentoring by accomplished women in the aviation to girls ages 9-17.”

Considered by many to be a true national treasure, the NAHF, a 501(c)(3), has served as the only Congressionally-chartered aviation hall of fame for over 50 years. The NAHF honors the people-industry leaders, pilots and aviators, engineers and scientists, astronauts and inventors who have made American aerospace what it is today.  By leveraging and honoring their unique status and legacy, the NAHF inspires future leaders yet to be discovered.  Despite carrying on this important role, the NAHF operates without any federal funding whatsoever.  To see how you can help, please visit the NAHF at www.nationalaviation.org and look for the “Donate Now” button!
