Joe Engle/F-100 Super Sabre

Prior to becoming an Air Force test pilot and, later, a NASA astronaut, Engle served with the 474th Fighter Day Squadron (later re-designated the 309th Tactical Fighter Squadron) flying F-100’s at George AFB, California. He was inducted into the NAHF in 2001.
