Robert “Bob” Hoover 1922 – 2016

If there is such a thing as aviation royalty, Robert A. “Bob” Hoover, enshrined in 1988, was our beloved and benevolent king.

We were among the legions, of all stripes, eagerly hanging on his every word as he often humbly regaled us with yet another true tale infused with genuine warmth, wit and hard-earned wisdom.

Though he has passed from this earthly existence, we at the National Aviation Hall of Fame are lifted to have had Bob Hoover’s friendship and support, and find comfort in knowing his example will here live on to inspire generations to come.
