Robotics, Women Aerospace Heroes, and More!

From celebrating the legacy of past space pioneers to cheering on the next giant leap with the upcoming launch of Artemis II, March at the Joe Clark Innovation Lab will be filled with discovery, inspiration, and hands-on activities.

Open Kids Labs are held from 10 am–2 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Check out these March Lab highlights!

March 4–8: Robotics in the Lab

In conjunction with the 2026 Ohio V5RC MS Robotics State Championship, being held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Lab will offer a variety of robotics-themed activities. Visitors can create robot art, design circuits, build helicopters, complete activity sheets, and watch short films about how robots power space and aviation.

March 8: Women of Aviation Celebration

We’ll honor our women Enshrinees by building rocket and bi-wing airplane models, taking a virtual shuttle tour, watching “Why I Fly” films about women in aerospace, and exploring the “Portraits of Courage: Women of Aviation” photo exhibit.

March 17: Leprechaun Lab

Build a leprechaun helicopter, create a Skittles rainbow, hunt for hidden Leprechauns, light up shamrocks with circuits, and more during our St. Patrick’s Day party.

March 28: Bunny Trail

Hop through the National Museum of the United States Air ForceTM to hunt for candy, snap a photo with the Easter Bunny, build a bunny helicopter, and more.

Join us for Science Saturday on March 21, as we celebrate strength, skill, and the pioneering spirit of women in aviation and industry! We’ll have activities honoring the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II, as well as the Women Airforce Service Pilots, the first women to fly U.S. military aircraft. You can even take a photo at our Rosie the Riveter Selfie Station.

Can’t make it to the Lab this month? No problem! Wherever you are, you can still explore with our Discovering Flight at-home activities through our online engagement hub. We offer hands-on activities, videos, and inspiring stories about aviation pioneers for students from PreK through high school.

This month, kids can explore Artemis II-inspired challenges to celebrate NASA’s upcoming return to the moon, build and experiment with hands-on projects, and dive into interactive games from our Aviation Adventure Collection.
